Introducing..... SUP (Soup) and RAINBOW

A couple of days ago, lets just say we got a little creative. Grandma asked what we wanted from the store on her way home from work, Kate's reply was pipe cleaner. Talk about totally random thought for Kate. She wanted to make paper flowers and we did, they looked beautiful and a really simple cute idea to keep her creative mind busy. The next day though we went pipe cleaner crazy. My sister Amy just got home from work, and Kate wanted to make a rainbow out of her pipe cleaner she asked me to make a bracelet, well my sister being super creative tired to out do me and make a rainbow head piece for her to wear. It just took off from there, we made rings necklaces and a flower accessories. That sparked Kate into wanting to be Rainbow Brite the super girl. Caleb wanted to get into the action. He has this head band that he likes to wear and make funny car noises and pretend to be like Buzz Light Year... he likes to say too infin and BEYOND he can't say the whole thing yet. He could not find his Super Hero head band any where , Kept say where did it go... where did it go, Sup where Sup. He says Sup short for super hero. Caleb finally found it and placed it right over his eyes, it's a wonder he can see anything. Kate and Caleb asked me to put on the music and they danced and played together with there new outfits. So I am proud to present SUP and RAINBOW BRITE the super hero of the day! They played for hours running around trying to save each other and hug each other to make each other feel better. Who would have thought a Head Band and a bag of Pipe Cleaners would have set this whole adventure into motion. Gotta love it, definitely a riot to watch them play together and laugh. It was a great day. I love it when you have those kinds of days, when everyone gets along, plays well together and everyone is having fun!

Kate our little Cowgirl

Kate newest thing is to get undressed from her school clothes as fast as she can, and get in her, cowgirl outfit on as she calls it. She gets her boots, hat, and Jeans on. She has to have blue jeans on. She has quiet the imagination. She loves to pretend she is Jessie from Toy Story. Screaming HEE HAW and running all over on her pretend horse. Kate loves to go out and pet Grandma's horses, it just adds to experience I think. She loves for me to take her picture all dressed up. She is quiet the little cowgirl poser. She looks like she is having the time of her life, it is so fun to watch her love of animals grow and her imagination run wild. Giddy Up Cowgirl Kate.... YEEE HAW!!!

A Duck for a Binky???

Just the other day I went to go get Jane up from her name and found her with a toy ducky in her mouth. She apparently couldn't find her Binky and was using the duck instead. How it got in her bed I have no idea, probably one of her siblings threw it in there. Jane you are a pretty clever little bug. It made for a good laugh. She did not want me to take it out, she really thought it was her Binky.

Utah State Fair

So yesterday we decided to go on a whim and head to the state fair that is happening this week. It was either going to be a blast or a bust because we hadn't planned on doing this in advance. We seem to get out of the house without to much delay, so maybe it was going to be good. We got there an oh my goodness it was just so so hot, there was not a breeze to be felt that day. I think if the wind was blowing it would have made the experience a little nicer. My poor sister been 7 months pregnant was red in the face and so hot, I felt for her. The Heat ended up being the factor that made the kids emotionally melt down, no punt intended. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the farm animals. Their favorite part was being able to pet one of the baby rabbits they had on display. Kate said she would rather have a rabbit than a Cat, oh please oh please she said. I told her not today, it seem to work. Caleb was all smiles as he got his chance to pet the rabbit, he was talking up a storm to the little guy. Julia and Kate enjoyed watching the Sheep get a hair cut and petting the baby pigs. I have to say the Cattle there on display both meat and dairy cows, were can I say HUGE, I had never seen such a large cow. The one thing that did make me laugh was the booth at the end of the cattle barn, it was a Utah Beef Council posters with all the different kinds of Steaks you could eat. How sad for the cows, just kidding. Oh and they had a Hot dog stand right outside the Pigs barn, what is wrong with these people. Just makes you want to run over and get yourself a bit, yeah right. We took a look around at all the show horses, Kate loved that part. She wanted to know what all the names of the horses were on there stalls. After that we tried some fun carnival food and the Kids were done, the heat, I think was just to much for them. I'm pretty sure they loved seeing and touching all the animals, but after that the kids were ready to go home. It was a fun day and fun time getting out of the house. I remember going to the State fair in Michigan growing up and we would spend all day watching the horse jumping contest, wagon pulling contest and cattle showing, good memories. I really enjoyed going as a kid, I hope the kids liked going to the Fair just as much as I did growing up.

We have a Crawler!

Jane officially started crawling September 7th. She is on her way. It never seems to get old seeing your children hit those mile stones. It is so neat to finally see her get it. She was very cautious and just didn't seem to want to give it a try, but once she did she hasn't stopped since. She tends to still stay in one little area. She seems to crawl just a few times and then stops, she hasn't quite gone crazy crawling quite yet. This new crawling thing is kind of different for Jane. It's funny Kate would only crawl to get a magazine, and Caleb would only crawl to the dog and you'll never guess what Jane wanted..... She crawled to her big sisters Princess hair brush. I don't think there is much rhyme or reason for what they go for, it is just what they want at the time that seem to catch their eye. I think it is just funny to see what that one thing is that makes them get the courage up to try and crawl. We are so excited Jane way to go on learning how to crawl.

Jane 9 months old

Jane turned 9 months this week. Jane is doing so well. She is talking more baby talk and she is wanting to crawl but hasn't quite figure out how to go forwards instead of backwards, she has almost figure it out. Jane's newest cute thing is when you pick her up she likes to squeeze your neck and give you a big long hug, I think she gets that from her daddy. Jane has develop a new facial expression, we like to call the stink face. She took a look at herself in the mirror on day and she scrunched up her noses and her eyes like something stinks and she has been doing that ever since. She starts to smile at you and then the oh so cute, not really stink face appears, kind of fun at first, but now she does it all the time. So as you can imagine most of her pictures I took of her this time are her showing off her new funny face. I hope it is just a phase. The newest craze in the food department is Puffs and Bitter biscuits, they are all the rage in Jane's eyes, she is obsessed with the puffs, she smiles and laugh each time she see the container, and she get very serious when she wants you to give her some more. Hey what can I say the girl knows what she wants. Jane has started to wave back at people who wave at her, and she loves to pat your shoulders and pull your hair. She thinks it is funny to see my face as I try to untangle her tiny fingers from my now frizzy hair. I have to say Jane personality is starting to really come out. She is a very content, smiley, sweet, quiet, sassy, fun little bundle of joy to have around. She sure does bring a smile to many faces. She still only has two bottom teeth, but I can see the front two are going to be making their entrance soon, oh how I look forward to the teething, come what may and love it right. Jane is starting to loose some of her baby rolls because she is so much more active. Oh and I almost forgot, every time she hears music she starts to dance by bouncing up and down, the cutest thing ever. I think that sums up Jane this month. Love you Jane!

Kate goes to Kindergarten

Kate on her first day of Kindergarten
The day has finally arrived. Kate had her first day this past Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Kate has been so excited for this day to come, she has been talking about for two week straight. Kate actually slept in a little later than she normally does, I think she had a hard time sleeping. She was like a typical kid the night before Christmas. She was so excited she had a hard time sleeping. She woke up and had breakfast and didn't eat much due to her excitement. She loved picking out her outfit to wear the first day of School, she picked a blue jean dress with a red ribbon for a belt, she look so cute. She got dressed right after she eat and said come on mom we are going to be late for the bus, we actually had about an hour before the bus actually arrived. It was nice, it gave me time to gets some really great first day of school pictures. It was hard to find a good spot with the sun rising over the mountains in the east, I eventually found a good spot and got some good ones. I asked Kate what was going to be the best part and what was she was the most excited about she said Everything, especially the bus. I had my Dad watch the two little ones while I took Kate down to the bus stop so I could fully document the trip with pictures. I was so excited for Kate and so relieved that she wasn't nervous a bit. I think I was more nervous for her. The excitement I had was intermixed with feelings of sadness. My baby girl was growing up and going to school, were oh were did the time go. As I walked her down the street holding her hand, I found myself not wanting to let go, but new it was time and she was ready. I think her excitement made it a lot easier on me as a mom. Kate was her talkative self, one comment made me laugh though. She said, "Mom it's going to be a long time til I get to high school, huh mommy." I said your right; Why don't we focus on just getting threw are first day of Kindergarten alright, she said "Ok we can do that." The girl is already thinking about high school, wow to funny for words. She was so worried about not walking fast enough to get to the bus, like we were going to miss it. We were so early it was embarrassing, I miss judged the walk to the bus stop and gave ourselves to much time. It was fine, I just took more pictures. The bus soon arrived, earlier we practiced, that as soon as she stepped on the first step on the bus to turn around and smile so I could get a picture of her on the bus for the first time. The bus driver was great, he let me get a picture of her no problem. I told Kate to have fun and I love you, she quickly got on the bus found a seat near the front and sat in her seat and waved good bye to me with the biggest grin ever. What a big day for her. I sadly walked my way back to the house, worried and nervous for her, but happy at the same time. Strange to feel all of that at the same time. I guess Bitter Sweet would be a good way to put how I was feeling. I have to admit I cried a few tears, but quickly got back to the other two waiting for me at the house.
First day of School out fit, it was a little chilly out so she put on her Jacket after that

So excited can't wait to get on the bus

Love that smile!

Showing off her new packback

I have decided to start a new tradition, most moms would make a big first day of school breakfast, but I have decided to for go that, because my kids get to excited and don't eat it anyways. I have instead decided to make their favorite cookies while they are gone and have them ready to eat as a special treat. So Caleb and I while Kate was gone made cookies. It was a great to have a little time one on one with Caleb, that is rare due to him being the middle child. He really enjoyed putting the oil and water in and especially stirring, he couldn't get enough of that. Caleb would say my turn, I do, I do. He also had a great time taste testing the cookies before Kate got to try them, as Caleb would say I WWAANNT TA COOOKIE all dragged out and slurred together. I didn't realize how much Caleb played with Kate ,and how much Kate kept him busy while I attended to Jane. I wasn't sure what to do with myself, Kate keeps me very busy. I found myself missing our usually mornings on the couch all together watching Curious George. I am going to miss having all three kids in the morning. Most moms would be ecstatic to have one less, but I love having all of them around, it keeps me busy. I looked at the clock and realized it was time to go get Kate at the bus stop, time went by farely quickly. I just wasn't prepared for the bus to be 40 mins late, yep you read it right 40 min. I was getting really worried for a while their. I guess the bus driver said they had trouble getting organized with what student went on what bus. I was just glad Kate was on the right bus. She got off the bus so excited, but a little tired, the excitement wore her out I think. I asked her what was the best part she said Everything! She had a really go day she said, she made two new friends already, Rose and Sara. As we walked home I told Kate I had a surprise for her at home that Caleb helped me make, she practically ran home after that. Kate loved her cookies, she screamed with excitement as she saw what was on the counter. So that was pretty much the summary of what Kate's first day was like, from what I saw and hear. I am so proud of you Kate, you are growing up to be such a wonderful young girl. We love you very much and are so glad your first day of school went so well and that you loved it. What a day in the books to remember, a new first for Kate and a never go back moment for me. Happy first day of Kindergarten KATE!!
