Wizard of Oz
On July 16th, Kate and I went to go see the Wizard of Oz at the local Alpine community theater. It was fantastic. We also had the chance to go with my two sisters and my niece Julia. It was so nice to be able to take Kate to see this play. We just happen to have ruby red slippers and a like colored blue dress so we decided together it would be fun to dress up like Dorthy and go to the Play. I took some picture outside before the show. Kate has never been to a play before, she kept thinking we were going see it on the movie screen and well lets just say I had to let her see for herself for her to understand. We got great seats, we ended up taking Kate's booster seat from the car which made it easier to see over the adults heads. Kate has only seen the movie at home maybe once or twice. She continually leaned over and said mommy the scare crow needs a brain etc. telling me what was going to come next. She was so into watching the play, her eyes never looked away from that stage once, until it was intermission time. Usually it hard to get her to want to sit still and watch something, I wasn't sure how this whole play atmosphere was going to go. Kate did great she loved it, see was even singing along to all of the songs. The best part for her was being able to pet Toto the dog and meet all the characters in the play afterward. It seem like she had this magical wonder in her eyes, she was so excited to meet all the characters, excepted the wicked wick. Kate said I don't like the bad wick. I told her no one likes her it's fine. I hadn't been to a play in a while myself, I miss going to see plays, I really enjoy going to these kinds of events. I don't get the opportunity to go much with little ones around and other reasons too. It was great to go and enjoy some one on one with my oldest. I miss those days sometimes. After we met the characters and got in the car, Kate asked me where is Kansas, is is far, and can we go visit Dorthy there someday. She couldn't stop talking about Dorthy and all the Characters and what they all needed. Heart, Brain, Courage, a Home, you know. Kate is still watching Oz during quiet time each day, it's been a couple of weeks now. Good Times, and Great Memories. I need to do this more often, it was a great time had by all.

Caleb being Silly!
Caleb I have to say is so funny and does the cutest things, I can't help but just sit back and watch him. He always has a way of making me laugh and putting a smile on every ones faces. He has this contagious laugh and adorable smile I just can't get enough of. These picture I am posting are some of the funny things I have captured him doing lately, anything from trying on mommy's glasses to insisting he wears Kate's dress up skirt when he plays with his dump truck. Like they say a picture is worth a thousand words so I just stop typing and let you in on the joy this little boy brings to our lives. Never a dull moment ever. Come what may and Love it!

Mommy's Kisses
Caleb in the last couple of days has started to point at his hurts or och es and he doesn't stop saying it hurts until mommy kiss the very spot that it hurts......Ah the magic of a mommy's kiss. I cherish these days, when a simple kiss from mommy makes it all better.

Jane 7 months
Jane turned 7 months on July 1st. She has been a busy girl this month. She is now rolling over like a pro and sitting up. She started eating fruits and vegetables. Jane loves applesauce and Sweet Potatoes those two would be her very favorite right now. She doesn't like to eat the oatmeal or rice to much. Jane has also had her two bottom teeth come in, she hasn't been to fussy about the whole thing. She just was really irritated a couple of evening before bed and then she had her teeth come threw. Jane is such a sweet easy going baby and very content with what ever she is doing, such a blessing. This little girl loves to wiggle her toes and ankles constantly, it's so cute. She also is a big ham and really gives you a big smile when she see the camera pointed her way. Jane has to be in the room where the action is happening, she wants to be with you all the time. Jane enjoys playing in the saucer toy and being able to stand up a little in it. Jane has difficulties with going to bed, she likes to be rocked and doesn't like to have to cry herself to sleep. I am trying to do the sleep technique I tried with Kate, it seem to work. Caleb never needed to learn how to fall asleep on his own, he has just always been that way, so nice. So that would be my only trouble she is really dealing with right now. She is so happy all the time. She loves to sit and play with sister. Oh and she loves her brothers cars, it was the only thing on Sunday that would make her happy during church, to funny. We might just have a tom boy on my hand, only time will tell. I realized the other day that I hadn't taken a picture of Jane in the bath tub by herself so I took one the other day and it was so sweet. I know she is rolly polly and I love it, but I never really realized how many rolls she had until after I took the picture. Jane's baby fat is just to cute. I oh course for this month picture took it in her 4th of July outfit which seemed appropriate for the month. I ended up learning how to make her curly ribbon hair accessory, it turned out pretty nice, I think. Well what else can I say about Jane this month..... I think that is about it. We just love her to pieces, what a doll and a blessing all wrapped into one!
Bee's Baseball & Fireworks

Yesterday we went to the Bee's Baseball game in Salt Lake and after watched some breath taking fireworks. It was a great time, I guess this has been a little tradition the last few years in my family, I just haven't been around to attend. So this year I got to go, and it was awesome. The food was outrageously priced but how often do you go to a baseball game, so since it was a special occasion I decided to try something new; a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, it was pretty good. I had never had one before. We sat and watched the game. There was few scary fly balls and some questionable calls by the refs ,but all in all it was a really fun game. I think the bad calls from the refs may have cost them the game. My sister said don't be surprise it they lose, they lose every year we come.... and they did by one run. It was fun doing the wave and watching my sister Kasey and brother-in law do the YMCA, good times, good times. After the game they let everyone onto the outfield to watch the fireworks display. We stayed in our seats, it was just as good a view from where we were at. Can I say AWESOME FIREWORKS!! They took my breath away and as they played music along with it, it gave me goose bumps. I am so grateful to live in such a wonderful place and to have the freedoms we have. It truly gave me a moment to reflect on this amazing country we live in and the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces. Once again all I had was my cell phone to take pics so the quality is not so great, just mostly took pics to document the evening.

Independence Day
Happy July 4th everyone! This year we had a great time! We had a nice picnic BBQ with all the fix ens. It was actually really cold out I had pants and a long sleeve shirt on, in the beginning of July, never thought that would ever happen. After dinner we shot off some sparklers, as Kate kept saying Sprinklers, to funny. All the Kids really got into the sparklers, then we shot some fountain fireworks off in the drive way. After we finish we looked out at the horizon and watch the professional firework displays from Thanksgiving point and others. So a double dose of fun. Kate, I have to admit was really funny, she has been spoiled over the years with her Daddy's display of fireworks. It's Jerry's favorite Holiday, so as you can imagine he goes all out. Kate kept saying so when are we going to light the big fireworks off, are we just lighting little ones. I had to tell her that it is very dry here in Utah and we can't buy the big one with out the whole lawn catching on fire, it's not like home where it's so humid and wet. It was a hard concept for her to understand. She is become much like her Daddy, I think she loves the 4th of July just as much or even more than Dad.
I wanted to take a moment today to remember the reason for the holiday and say that I am so thankful for my freedom and the young men and women who sacrifice their lives in our behalf. I get goose bump EVERY TIME I sing the Star Spangle Banner. I am thankful for the chance to live in this wonderful country of ours, and the freedoms I have. Happy Independence Day to all!
