Toddler Pastimes

Kate loves to do a variety of activities, one of which is playing with sidewalk chalk on the patio. The weather has been unpredictable, it's either raining cats and dogs and it's really cold or it's warm and sunny. Yesterday we happen to get lucky and we had one of those sunny days. I sure do appreciate the nice weather, so Kate can get a little fresh air and exercise so we don't go stir crazy inside the apartment. Kate loves to be outdoors, if she could she would be outside everyday all day long if you let her.

She often asks me to go for walks with her and the dog. Today we did just that, we walked to the Hardees by our apartment and got a some lunch. Kate liked the music they were playing inside the restaurant, she had to get up and dance, everyone got a good laugh and smile out of it. I really have enjoyed the one on one time I've spent with Kate, I'm going to miss our walks together just her and I. It's ok, change is good and I'm looking forward to walking with two children soon.

Shoe Shopping with a 2 year old

Well it's once again time to get Kate some more shoes for her ever growing feet. Kate and I don't mind, what girl doesn't like to go shoe shopping. Well, I guess I wasn't prepared for shoe shopping with an independent, opinionated, fashion awareness two year old. We needed to find Kate some new Church shoes and we eventually did, but not before she ran straight for the lovely pink "flop flops" as Kate calls them. She told me mommy I need to look in the mirror and see what they look like, a lady walked by and said they start early don't they. So after that it was like pulling teeth to get her to take them off. I finally got her to try her new church shoes out, after lots a convincing that if she tried these shoes on she would be able to get the pink flop flops she wanted. Good thing they were only 3 dollars because they are definitely not Mommy's favorite or what she would have picked. Let just say she had to wear them out the store and all the rest of the day, I had to practically pry them off of her feet. Who knew we had such a fashion Diva on our hands. All in all it was really cute to see her get excited about picking out her own shoes out and being her independent self. I love her to pieces.

What I've been up to

I know that there isn't much of me on this blog, so I thought I would take a moment to tell you what I'm up to. I am 6 1/2 months along in my pregnancy, and starting the count down. In case you didn't know we are have a little baby boy, and no we have no idea what we want to name him. It's the great debate right now, we do have some favorites. I have a planned c-section scheduled for either May 13th, or 14th. It seems like forever away, but other times it seems like it's right around the conner.

I spend my days as a typical mom would, defusing two year tantrums, failed attempts to potty train my child, walks together, naps, story time, meal times, an endless repeats of kate's favorite dvd at the time. What ever that might be.
I enjoy taking pictures with 0ur new rebel cannon camera; though I do admit it's a whole lot of camera I haven't quite master how to use to it's full potential. I started reading these books by Stephine Myers, Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipes. My sisters got me hook on them, there really wierd but interesting. I do admit living in Alabama with limited things to entertain and do, I have found out how to be more creative. I do enjoy going to the Beaches in Florida, and walks at the near by park.
I'm very exited for the arrival of are baby boy, I'm greatful to be blessed to have one of each, a boy and a girl. I have a feeling having this boy is going to be another fun learning experience completely different from my little girl. I'm very excited and look forward to the changes and challeges ahead of me.

Day at the Park

The one thing we do love about this small town on Enterprise Alabama is the local park. We go to the park a couple times a week as a Family. It's just beautiful. It has a long paved path that goes around two small ponds with a bridge crossing one of them. The pond is full of Catfish, minos and turtles. We always see alot of Geese and ducks year round. We love to rollerblade walk or run around the path as a Family. It ends up being a couple a miles in distance around the complete park. There is also a huge playground for Kate to play on, they have a 2-5 year old area and a 5 and above area to play on. We often times go and play bocci ball, or fly kites and just go for a picnic lunch. This Park has been a blessing to have so close to our home, we may live in a small town but we have a little piece of fun right around the corner.

Kate and Sadie the Best of Friends

This is Kate and her best friend Sadie. Sadie is 3 years old, we got her 3 months before Kate was born, people thought we were crazy for getting a dog so close to having a new baby, but I have to say it was the best choice we made. She has been such a joy and companion to my daughter, they play together all day long. We sure love having Sadie as a part of our family. Kate love to tease and run after sadie and give her walks everyday.

Southern Baby going sledding

We had such a great time sledding on our visit to Utah this Christmas. Some of you may be wonder about the strange title. Well let me explain. This was Kate 1st time experiencing Snow, she ask mom if we were going to the beach all the way to the park, because the sleds reminded her of the boogie boards we take to the beach. I told her "boy oh boy you truly are a southern baby" Kate had a great time in the Snow, she couldn't get enough of it. She loved pulling her sled up and down the hill. The only disapointment for her was when we got home, and she realized the snow was all gone and not coming back. It was so much fun to watch her play in the snow, truly a memory I will soon not forget.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone! We are very excited about this Holiday Season. We are excited to visit everyone in a week or so. Kate is really enjoying Christmas this year. If you ask her she will say " It's Jesus Birthday, and I'm two on my Birthday!" Typical 2 year old. She told Santa this year she wants a blue baby doll and a Red Vacuum. We thought she would be scared to go up and tell Santa what she wanted, but in fact it was the compete opposite, she couldn't wait to sit on his Lap. We love you all and hope your Holiday is filled with as much joy and love this year and we feel.

Fun in the Sun

We love going to the Panama City Beach, Florida together as a family. It's great to have the ocean so close, it's only about hour and half drive. Kate just can't get enough of the water. She loves building in the sand. Kate's favorite part was getting buried by her daddy.
