Kate's Surprise

Mickey and Minnie and the Gang

Peter Pan and Wendy flying

Tinker Bell
So after Kate got home from school this last Friday I decided to surprise her and take her to the Disney on Ice show.  Kate has been talking about it every time she would see the billboard off the freeway with all the Disney Characters on it.  We also had my sister Karrie and Julia come join the fun too.  My sister also surprise her Daughter Julia with the Disney on Ice.  I thought their reactions would have been more animated or excited, but I guess it just was taking them a while to figure out what and where they were.  Once they did it's like they just couldn't believe it.  They were all smiles after that.  We got there right when the doors open so it gave us a good chance to look at all the booths which can I say so  so over priced.  The girls ended up getting a flounder cup with a snow cone inside with a Sebastian spoon to eat it with.   Kate had a blast! She stared so hard at the characters her eyes began to water,it was like she didn't want to blink or she might miss something.  I asked her what her favorite part was and she said Ariel when she looked like she was swimming and Tinker Bell with her Pixie Dust coming out of her wand as she skated by.  I thought it was pretty fun too, I didn't care for the Leo and Stitch, I think it was the girls least favorite part too.  It was a great evening, it was nice to have a fun one on one day with Kate.  I know she hasn't had that in a while with me, so it was nice to have the chance to surprise her and have a night out with my baby girl.  (note: pictures taken with cell phone so they are not the best quality, just wanted to document occasion)

Jane loved playing with the Pumpkins
Jane is now 11 month old, can you believe it people??  Jane is growing and doing great. Jane is now walking along the furniture with ease, pulling up and standing.  She is now able to stand for maybe a couple of seconds on her own.   Jane is crawling all over the place. She has three teeth, the two bottom and the one top and a second top tooth on the way.  Jane loves to wave at everyone and giggle.  She is more vocal than she has ever been, she still signs more and all done while eating.  Jane loves to play with her big brother, sometime Caleb doesn't feel the same way.  Jane is very vocal ever time she see animals, she loves to try and talk to them, she say AA AA.    Jane also loves to stick out her tongue and curl it up at the end when she gets excited.  She still has crazy hair, I just don't know what to do with it.  Jane is trying new foods and loving it, she eat Pancakes like they are going out of style.  Jane love Kix cereal and peaches to name a few of her favorite. Often times you can Catch Jane Laugh with her brother and sister when they find something funny.  It's so hilarious to watch.  Jane enjoys bath time and going to the local pool to play in the water.

Happy Halloween.....TRICK orTREAT!!!

Cute Cowboy Caleb

Pretty Princess Kate

Kate and Cousin Julia

Cute Kitty Jane

The whole Gang

All the Girls

Halloween this year was really we wet, cold , fun, exciting and full of sugar.  Kate this year had so much fun dressing up as Princess Aurora, we walked into find a costume for her and she new immediately what she wanted to be.  I was happy she wanted to be a princess again.  I know someday she will grow out of being one of the Disney Princesses, so I was excited she was still in this stage for at least one more year.  I just realized that she was trying to decided between Tinker bell and Aurora for last years costume and she choose Tinker Bell last year, so that was nice she got to be both things she wanted to be just a year later.  She looked so beautiful in her costume, she really looked liked Aurora with her blond hair.  It was a real treat to be able to go to Kate's school this year and watch her walk in the Halloween parade.  Kate was so excited that we came, she looked worried at first because she couldn't find Caleb, Jane and I, but then as soon as she turned the corner her face lit up.  What a good memory.
Caleb this year was all about wanting to be a Cowboy, I think watching toy Story kind of inspired him a little.  He loved walking around trying to rope all the tops of the pumpkins.  Caleb made for a very handsome, cute cowboy, his costume turned out great I think.  Jane was a cute little Pink Kitty Cat, she looked so cute with her costume on, she was a little fussy at first, but soon got use to wearing it.
Halloween night was full of anticipation for the treats to come, so we headed out umbrella's in hand to collect our first treats.  Can I just say the weather was terrible, it was raining so hard.  The kids didn't seem to mind, they all loved going to each house collecting their treats.  It was so cute, Caleb really seem to get it this year, he would go up to the house and he would say TRICK or TREAT, he said it really well and clear, he even said thank you after he got his candy.   After about half their buckets were full, which is plenty I think for them being so little, we decided it was just to cold and windy. The rain was starting to get to the kids too.  So we headed home, no sooner did we get everyone in their nice warm PJ's it stopped raining, go figure.  We had a great time eating candy and taking funny pictures.  We all had a great time trying on Aunt Kasey's and Uncle Royce's Thing ONE and Thing TWO wigs, it made for some great laugh.  I am sure these picture will be very funny to look back at in years to come.  Just a side note, my Dad was not the most willing participant when it came to trying on the wig we really had to talk him into it, but we are glad we did, it looks so funny! All in all it was a great Fall/Halloween season this year, full of great memories to look back on!

Quote for the Day

I thought this was very interesting and so true don't you think???????

Pumpkin Carving

This year we combined Family Home Evening and Pumpkin Carving.  I gave the lesson on trying to be like Jesus and following his example.  We listen to a great song call "If the Savior Stood Beside Me".  Music always seems to bring the spirit into the room.  After the lesson the fun began.  I finally carved pumpkins this year.  I carved them with Kate, but it's been a few years since, either I have had really small babies, or been pregnant and it's just was to much for me to deal with at the time.  So with that note, this was Caleb's first real experience carving pumpkins.  Kate loved scooping out all the inside of the pumpkin.   Caleb on the other hand was not having it at all.  He would look at it and smell it and try to touch it, all he would say was Yucky and make a super silly face.  I helped Kate cut  her pumpkin under the direction of her design ideas, she I think had a good time telling me what to do, it's not often our roles get reversed.  I think her pumpkin turned out pretty good.  I got some cute pictures of the too older kids smiling with the newly carved pumpkin.  It's funny how Caleb is all for smiling with the jack-o-lantern after it is done and didn't want to have anything to do with it while we were cleaning and cutting it.  The even crazier part was he actually smiled for the Camera, lately he has been anti-smile for me lately when the camera comes near him.  Caleb got so excited to see the pumpkins all lite up outside, it was great to see his excitement.   It was a great time carving out pumpkins and putting are creative juices together to make some cool Jack-O-Lanterns this year.

Fall Fun Festivities

So this year the kids and I got a chance to double our fun with the Fall Festivities.  We went to Hee Haw Farms in Pleasant Grove and Wheeler farm up in Salt Lake area.  The Kids had a great time looking at all the animals and riding the huge, can I say a little scary slide.   Kate could get enough of it, if I let her she would have been there all night long.  The farm was as my sister stated in her blog a little "Jenky".  It was just not a very natural looking farm, more put together or set up for the fall time, not a normal natural farm setting.  The Kids loved  it though they had so much fun riding the animal ride, riding the tire horses and looking at all the huge pumpkins.  The kids after a while were getting fussy so we went to Macy's to pick out their own pumpkins to carve later that week.  The kids had a blast looking threw all the pumpkins to find just the right one.  We sure did get some really odd looking shaped ones this year, which can I say made for some cool jack-o-lanterns.  I know there are lots of pictures so bare with me on this entry, I just couldn't decide what to use, so enjoy...Keep reading below!

The very next day we went to Wheeler farm with Jerry's parents and sisters, to do similar fall fun things.  Caleb is was obsessed with everything tractors, at both locations he had to sit on and try everyone out.  He  is all boy can I just say.  We first went through a little hay/corn maze, where Caleb had to show Grandpa every little decoration displayed along the way.  Caleb also enjoyed sitting on Pa Pa shoulders and telling him which direction to go.  Next we picked out pumpkins and went on a a really neat Wagon/Hayride the kids really enjoyed riding and looking at all the ducks and fall leaves along the way.  After two days of fall fun, can I just say we where a little worn out, put we sure had a great time doing it.  Thanks family for the good time and great memories this Fall season.
