Spring is definitely here. I wanted to try a capture some of the beautiful flowering plants and trees. Everyone has these gorgeous flowers all over their yards. There are so many flowering plants out this time of year, it just takes your breath away. I hope I captured a glimpse of what I'm seeing here in Alabama, so you can enjoy it too.

I almost forgot what it felt like...
Today was a great day. I have an awesome visiting teacher that voluntarily asked to watch Kate for a few hours. I said, hey if you're offering I will definitely take you up on it, so I did. I have been wanting to get some me time in before I added our new little one to the family, because I know the first few months can be pretty busy with feedings and changings etc. So I really took advantage of my time and I went to a local shop in town called "I Create", it's a paint your own ceramic/ make your own mosaic place. I loved it, I was able to make a craft without interruption and I didn't even have to clean up after myself. I'll have to post my creation when it's finished. I was also able to grab a bite to eat, even better after I pick up Kate it was time for her nap so I was able to take time to write in this blog today. I almost forgot what it felt like to be by yourself with no children to buckle in and out the car, to tot around and make sure your have enough supplies at hand to keep them happy. To just get and your car and go, it felt good to remember what that was like again. I miss it at times, but I am truly grateful for my little girl and what a blessing she is to have in my life. I strongly recommend the quality me time, sometime I forget to remember me a what I like to do apart from being a mom and wife.

Just an Update
I just thought I would update everyone on how I was doing. I just got back from the Doctor and he said I was measuring about 31 weeks and I be 32 on Friday, for all of you that are sure how many months that is, it's about 1 week shy of 8 months. I'm doing great, the doctor has scheduled my C- Section for May 14th. I can hardly believe it's coming so quickly. I have had a pretty go pregnancy minus the first three months that I lost 13 pounds being so sick. Everything else has been pretty good. I am getting to the point were you can't really sleep because there is no position that seems comfortable anymore. I guess it just training me and getting me ready for the lack of sleep I will be getting having to feed the baby at night. So I guess it kind of a positive and a negative at the same time, if there is such a thing. All in all I'm looking forward to see our little boy soon!

Easter Party

Today was the church Easter Party. Kate and I had a great time. Daddy was out doing service for someone who needed his help. It was a great day. It was nice and sunny and just perfect for a Ward Picnic at our families favorite park. They had an Easter egg hunt for the kids along with a gunny sack race, and bunny face painting. Kate had a fun time doing all the activities, I was surprised when she tried to do the gunny sack race, she actually did pretty good. Kate played so hard and had so much fun that I was able to give her a bath and put her to bed before 7:oo today. Now that's what I call a great end to a perfect day for a mom who is 7 1/2 months pregnant , and so exhausted.

St. Patrick's Day

Once again Kate never ceases to amaze me at how much she actually does pay attention to what her mom is saying. I told Kate today we have to wear green because it is St Patricks day. I explained it's an Irish Holiday and if you don't wear green today anyone can pinch you, but if you wear green you'll be saved from all those pinches. So later on that day her dad came down stairs from sleeping for the day and was waking Kate up from her nap. He was giving her little pinches, she rolls over in a droggy voice and says "no pinchy pinchy, I'm wearing green, it's patty day." Her dad looked at me a laughed, I told him that I explained what today was, and he was socked that she remembered. So Kate saw that her dad wasn't wearing green and started to pinch him. So Daddy went up stairs and changed his shirt without telling Kate ,and Kate went back to pinching daddy again. Daddy said "Hey I'm wearing green", Kate said "OH Man! I can't pinch you anymore." It was cute to see her have fun with the whole idea behind the holiday

Let's Go Fly a Kite...

Spring is definitely coming in like a Lion. It was so windy on Saturday we went to the Park and flew Kites as a family. This was Kate's first time flying a kite, she had a great time. She went to the store and picked her very own kite out. A frog kite, I don't know why, it's just what she wanted. I tried to get some shots of Kate flying her Kite, it was difficult to get Kate an the kite in the same frame, so here is a few of the best snap shot I could get to remember the occasion.
Twinkle Toes

I just had to share this little story. Kate was so excited to get her toe nails painted. She walked around the house saying I have red toes, red toes. The first thing she told her Dad when he woke up for the day was, "Daddy ,Daddy Mommy painted my toes red aren't they sooo pretty." That night she was afraid to take a bath she said "mommy my red toes will come off". I had to explain that they wouldn't and it will be OK, let just say it took lots of convincing before she would get her feet wet. She went to church the next day and told everyone that she had red toe nails. She noticed everyone that day that had their nails painted. I didn't think she would be so excited. The wonderment of a small child. It's fun to experience first times all over again as a parent.
P.S. Kate looks completely like her daddy, Unfortunely she did get one thing from her mommy, my cuby wide feet. I feel for her shoe shopping when she gets older, totally frustration trying to find shoes that fit and are cute at the same time.

Chase Me

It was another wonderful sunny day outside, so everyone went outside to play in the backyard. Kate made a new game up of chase. She laughed and giggled while her daddy and I even Sadie chased her from one end of the backyard to the next. Let just say being 7 months pregnant and chasing your two year old daughter can be not quite the easiest thing to do. I felt like I was running in slow motion, but with how fast Kate runs it was about the right speed for both of us. I''ll be looking forward to being able to run better and keep up with her better in a couple of months. Daddy had a good time playing soccer and chasing Kate too.

Bedtime Stories

One of my fondest memories of my Grandpa Spafford was his great bedtime stories. He would tell the greatest stories. I only remember bits and pieces of many of them, but one I remember very well. It was about a girl that when to a chocolate factory and eat to much chocolate and became a chocolate bar. She end up finding out that to much of something is not always good for us, she evenually turned back to herself after she discovered her lesson she needed to learn. Since I loved Chocolate I thought it was great. We lost my Grandpa when I was only 5 so I hold on to these simple memories and hold them dear to my heart. You might be wondering why I posted a picture of this particular book. Well, It's Kate's favorite bedtime story right now. It's Called "A Bad Cases of the Stripes" by David Shannon. It reminds me so much of the stories that my Grandpa use to tell me. You must check it out. It's about a girl who loves Lima Beans but is affraid to eat them because her friends will laugh at her, so she ends up turn all different shade of the rainbow, well I won't spoil the ending for you, you'll have to read it to find out for yourself what happens. Kate loves this story, I haven't been able to let me read her a different story for about a month now. I guess she takes after her mom and loves a great bedtime story.

Just like my Daddy

We like to go to the park a lot as a family. Often times Jerry likes to wear his roller blades around the park, well for week Kate would try on daddy's roller blades around the house so we decide she needed a pair of her own. It was a rough start at first, lets just say she didn't get as far around the park as we thought she would the first time around. It's been a few weeks now and Kate's been practicing around the house, she is really getting the hang of it now. Kate is always wanting to skate. The first thing she does is put her skates on, I have to pry them off of her and distracted her into eating breakfast first. She always is saying I'm skating like daddy does, she looks up to her daddy a great deal.
Sweet Home Alabama

I know that this might not be the most exciting post, but I thought I would take a picture of our home that we have lived in the last 5 years for those who wanted to see. I always like to see where people live and the surrounding areas to help me picture that person and what they are up to. It's been a nice place to start our family with, I have many memories here, it's been fun.
