Just for Fun !

I found these older pictures on an old memory card and wanted to share them with all of you. It's really random, Christmas, and Halloween of 2007 and Easter 2008 and other random pictures I thought everyone would get a kick out of. I especially like the Halloween ones myself, we had a great time dressing up at the Ward Party.

The Count down begins

As you know we are expecting our 2nd child in a few weeks, so we have officially started our count down until baby brother arrives. I was trying to think of a way to help Kate grasp what was going to be happening; So Kate and I made a paper chain together to help her visually see when baby brother will be here. It's been really great, we've use it to learn a variety of things all at the same time. While we were making it we learned about color patterns and numbers/counting. Each day Kate counts how many rings are left on the chain, we sign and say the numbers. If you ask Kate she will tell you that everyday we take one off and when we get to the top baby brother will be boring, yes instead of born she says boring, don't ask me I don't know why. She says it's brothers birthday. I think sometimes the paper chain is there more for me then for her. It makes me really see and visualize how soon this new little one is coming into the world. I am excited, nervous and stressed all wrapped into one. It's good, I'm excited to not be pregnant anymore and feel more like myself.

No public restrooms

Today I found myself frustrated and upset with something so simple. Most of you know we have been potty training Kate for what seems like forever. Kate is really doing well with #1, pee-pee, what ever term you are comfortable with, she goes all day by herself with no accidents. On the other hand the girl will not Poop/#2/ have a BM (Bowel Movement) on the toilet. She always runs to her room after the deed has been done and tries to clean it up here self, which you can imagine is a lot more work for me. She knows what she is doing and has all the mechanics down but won't go. People say some children have a hard time with this concept. We were hoping to maybe have a week free of diapers before our son cames, but I don't for see that happening.
Any ways now that you have the background of what I am dealing with back to what I was so frustrated about today. We have been taking Kate out in public without a diaper on for sometime now, she has been really good at telling us when she has to go. We were out paying bills today and she mention she had to go. Well we asked two people in two different locations if they had a restroom Kate could use because we are potty training her. They both said we don't have a public restroom, we said is there any way our daughter could use your private bathroom so she won't have an accident. The one lady was going to, but her supervisor told her no. I just could believe they would let us use the restroom, they would rather a little girl have an accident in there office then let her go. I understand the reason that there isn't a public restroom for the general public to use but isn't this an exception. The lady told us if we let you use it we have to let everyone else and we just can't do that. I guess I am frustrated with people not just trying to help another person out and just being nice. I just don't understand. I'm probably just overreacting, blame it on the pregnancy hormones I guess. In the end we quickly made our way to the city court house, knowing they have to have a public restroom right, and got Kate to the bathroom with no problems, just a little bit of frustration.

Spilt milk and Brownie mixes

Kate once again trying to be her independent self, tried to pour her own glass of milk by herself. I knew she was going to attempted this eventally, it was only a matter of time, knowing that I wasn't half as upset with her. Kate proceeded to get a glass out of the dishwasher and then the gallon of milk and I am assuming she tried to pour it on the floor because that's where it landed. Then she tired to clean it up with the mop because she knew she was in trouble. She really tried hard to clean it up, it was cute to watch. She said mommy next time I need help, I tried to clean it up.
Ever since I've known my husband, every time I make brownies I always leave a little extra batter in the bowl for him to have, it's his favorite part of making brownies. He even told me a story that when he was little he made a batch of brownie mix and hide it under his bed for a month and eat it every couple of days till it was gone. It make me laugh and then I asked him if he ended up getting sick from it, he said no. Anyways the point of bringing this up was that my husband now has competition for the batter in the bowl, and her name is Kate. They came to an agreement that Kate gets the spoon and Dad gets the bowl. I think I might be needing to check under beds in the future, if Kate is anything like her dad.

Just a little update

Yesterday I had another Doctor's appointment and It went pretty well. He said everything is looking pretty good. He measured me and said I was measuring a little small for how far along I am. (Which I kind of figure, since everyone tells me I look so small for being 9 months Pregnant. I measured small with Kate too.) So he gave me a half smile and said I want to measure the baby and check his weight. He said there is nothing to worry about, just another reason to get an extra ultrasound just in case. He said you don't mind if we take another look at him, I told him I would love to have another ultrasound, it's always great to see the baby and have some more peace of mind. My insurance only usually pays for two routine ultrasound, unless the doctor needs to order another one for health reasons for the baby. So I'm excited about that, then I realized it scheduled for the 8th of May which is only one week before I have him. Kind of silly by then since I'll be seeing him a week after that. Oh well.

Jerry wanted me to post his recent flight to Gainsville, Georgia with his friend Bill. We know Bill from church. Jerry's not much into the blogging thing so he asked me to post it for him. He said they took off in Bill's plane on the little Enterprise Air strip and they flew to Georgia. It was about a half hour flight. They stopped to look at some planes that were on deplay and flew back. Jerry said he had a really great time and he got a chance to fly the plane a little bit. Jerry was really excited Bill asked him to go flying with him, he really enjoys flying. Here are some pictures from his fun adventure.

What's all happening at the Zoo...

This weekend we had a great time at the Montgomery Zoo. We wanted to take Kate for one last outing as a family of three before our new little one comes. We won't just have one kid for very much longer, actually only 4 weeks to be exact. We had such a great time, Kate really enjoyed the animals this time, she was a little young the first time we went. We also invited Kate's best friend Bella to come with us along with her brother Tristan. We wanted to give their mom a break since their daddy was out of town for two weeks and she is newly pregnant. The kids had a blast seeing all the animals and riding the train all around the Zoo. I couldn't of asked for better weather. It rained on our way to the the Zoo, but as soon as we got there it was sunny and breezy. We actually all wore pants that day because it was a little cool outside. It made going to the Zoo even better. I loved seeing the kids excitement when we would see a new animal. Kate loved the baby elephant and the monkeys.
After we were done with the Zoo we went to the local mall in Montgomery where they have an iceskating rink in the middle of it. Unfortunately our Camera battery died and we weren't able to capture any moments on film. Even though we didn't get any pictures I will never forget Kate's expression as she went around the rink with the help of her daddy. It was priceless, she was grinning from ear to ear. It was her very first time iceskating, and she loved it, she actually did really well for a first timer. All in all it was a great memorable trip that I'm glad we took. I'll never forget this one.

Daddy "Jean-Us" and "Tongue Clacks"

Just a cute story about Kate. Kate is really trying to be independent and do everything herself. She recently has been trying to get herself dressed for the day. It is quite the ordeal to watch. She was having trouble putting on her shorts, so her dad talk her through it and showed her where to place her hands to make it easier for herself. Kate kept putting two legs in one whole, as soon as her daddy told her how to do it and she got her shorts on she said "daddy your a genius", put Kate pronounced it more like "jean us". It was so funny Jerry and I got a really good laugh. I don't know where she learned that word, it was totally random.

Another Cute tid bit about Kate. Ever since mommy went to the eye doctor for her yearly check, Kate has really been interested in glasses. So we found these glasses you see in the picture at Winn Dixie a local grocery store. When we saw them we just had to get them. You can't tell in the picture, but you push a button and they actually light up. Kate just loves them she call them her "Tongue Clacks" translation, Contacts/Glasses. She carries moms old case around and tell everyone she wears Tongue Clacks like mommy. It's so fun to watch Kate discover the world around her.

I Create !

Today was such a fun day. I was able to have Jerry watch Kate while my friend Stacy and I went back to the I Create Pottery place. Like I promised I'm posting a picture of my last creation, a mosaic of Kate. To see what I created for Kate today, click on my friends Link titled Stacy and Brian, she brought her camera to capture our girls day out. It was really great to get some girl time in, some real adult conversation. This week was really tough with Kate, she was really testing her limits as a two year old. This was a much needed break. It's really funny everytime Stacy and I go out to do anything the rain follows us. It wouldn't be complete without the rain. It actually was perfect weather to spend time getting your hands dirty and destressing from the week. Jerry was really great to watch Kate for me, the two of them seem to have a fun day on their own as well. Thanks Stacy, I really had a great time!

I've been tagged

I've been tagged, just about everyone I know that has a blog as already been tagged, so I don't know who I will tag. I will still try to tell you seven random things about me.

1. I started playing percussion/the drums since I was in the 5th grade all the way through High school, were I went to national for Marching Band and we received 14Th Place out of the top 75 bands in the country. It was the first time our high school had attended the event.

2. My Nickname as a child was Kristabell. My Grandpa gave all his grandchildren nicknames, and they all had a story to go with them. Mine was because I have an outty belly button, so he called me Kristabell.

3. I was born in Maine and grew up in Michigan most of my life until I was a Junior in High School, we moved to Utah.

4. You know those girls that can't go anywhere without having their makeup on, well I can't go anywhere until I've done my hair. Those of you who know me, know that I have naturally Curly hair, and I just can't brush though it and go. I have to wet it down with water everyday, and put lots of hair gel in it. The curse of Curly hair aah!

5. My favorite all time treat I love to eat is Peanut M&M's and popcorn together, with a glass of cold milk.

6. I always seem beat the Rush of people when we go out in public to go to a movie or resturants, but the flip side of that is everytime I wash my car it rains that day. I know kind of random, but it's true.

7. I always wanted to go on a date with my husband and ride in a Hot Air Ballon someday.

I'm going to tag Jennifer, and Angie!

Wish You Were Here!

Today Kate and I took one of our regular walks with Sadie our dog, and on the way back Kate said I'm hot can I go swimming in the bath tub. I told here well I guess it's probably warm enough you can swim in your swimming pool outside. Kate got very excited, "me swim in my pool mommy", I said "yes." She practically ran the rest of the way home. I took a couple of snap shots of Kate in her pool. I'd like to say to all our loved ones still stuck in the snowy cold weather states..... Wish You Were Here! it's sunny and Beautiful.

F.H.E.

Yesterday we had a fun time spending the day together. We went around and paid all are bills and then ate lunch at Chic-fila, Daddy bought Kate a cow. After that we went to a place called Adventure Land in Dothan, it's a place that has games, miniature golf, and go-carts. Kate had so much fun hitting the balls around, of course she always seem to help Jerry cheat by putting his ball right in the hole to give him a hole in one. When Kate tries to help my ball, she usually misses, go figure. Jerry and I really enjoyed this new game they have, It's Deal or no Deal, instead of giving you money it gives you tickets for the prize booth. I came so close to getting 400 tickets. I had only two cases left one with 2 tickets and one with 400, and the banker offered me 200 tickets. So I took the deal because the last game I only won 8 tickets. To my disappointment my case actually had the 400 tickets. I wanted to kick myself. Jerry did pretty good himself, he won about 200 or more. We really had a great time. In the end we ended up winning about 376 tickets and the monkey Kate is holding is the prize she picked out. All in all we had a great family day yesterday!
