Sleepy Surprise

Just yesterday I woke up for the day and was taking Caleb downstairs and I see Kate on the floor asleep outside my bedroom. The hallway from my room to hers is only about 3 feet, not very far at all. I later asked her what happened and she did really know what to tell me, she did say that she didn't quite make it to my room to say she was getting up, and something about it was cooler in the hallway. It was such a cute surprise to see her asleep on the floor. The picture was hard to take because I didn't want to wake her up and I did want to use the flash. I had to hold my breath and not move while taking the picture so it wouldn't be blurry. It was good practice for low light photography and a cute picture opp all by itself. Kate is such a cute girl and she says the darn est things everyday, she sure keeps me laughing.

Birthday

Well, on the 16Th of this month I had another birthday, I had fun spending time with my kids and making birthday Cake with Kate and ordering pizza for dinner. Everyone sent such heart felt gifts, thank you it was a great day. Later that evening I went to the dive-in with my two kids. I was nervous I had never attempted to take two children by myself yet, but with a little planning ahead it work out great. Caleb slept the whole time. The ride there he fell asleep and it was really close to his bed time so he stayed asleep and Kate fell asleep as well because I purposely skipped her nap. Kate woke up for a little bit and then fell back asleep. I really got to enjoy the movies, two total chick flicks. Bride Wars and Marley and Me where playing together, they where both really great movies. Warning Marley and me is a crier, be prepared and bring some tissue. I had a great day, Jerry started a new shift the dreaded 2ND shift, so he wasn't able to come, but I still enjoy the day. He gave me some beautiful flowers and a card, candy and New camcorder that I wanted.
Later the next week my friend Stacy and I went out to a new restaurant in town, called Santa Fe, it was really good. The only problem was I couldn't taste much of my food because my nose with so stuffed from a cold Kate decided to share with me. I had a great time having some real girl time with no kids. Thanks Sandy for watching them so I could eat a hot meal and talk. Another year older and I hope wiser. I have learned a lot last year and want to continue to do the same this year. I had some great things happen to me in my life and in my families that I am very grateful for and feel truly blessed. I hope to experience even more. My birthday since it's so close to the beginning of the new year always make me reflect on what's happen to me and where I want to be in the future. I know this is kind of a random entry but I just thought I would share some of my thoughts.

Caleb 8 month Pictures

Caleb is 8 months old already!

Caleb is now 8 months old, time is going by so fast. My little boy is growing up so quickly, it seems faster with the second child. Caleb is doing really great. He sit up on his own and is always so happy to smile at anyone he sees. Caleb has finally got the hang of eating baby food now, and even eats oatmeal, which he didn't want to have anything to do with at first. Caleb loves his jumper and if he could he would be in it all day. He now says DA DA DA and shakes his head back and forth. He says MA Ma and loves to blow through his lips and make all kinds of silly sounds. He love his big sister Kate. Caleb loves cereal puff, he devours them. I think he like the idea of picking them up himself and putting them in his own mouth. He is really good at it too. As far as getting around he likes to scoot on his butt and reach for things. He hasn't shown any interest in crawling. He love to roll over back and forth a lot. He still has no teeth. I kind of love his toothless grin, it so cute, I think I will miss it when he gets his teeth. I hope he gets them soon, he can get so fussy and hard to deal with at times. He cries a lot because his gums hurt, poor guy. Caleb still loves sweet potatoes and fruit and hates green beans and peas. Bath time is a riot, he loves to splash his sister and and laugh. I's excited to say that Caleb's reflux has very much improved since he started baby food. I think my clothes are much happier now, I don't think there is much left of them after months of spit up, I guess it's time to get some more. Caleb has gotten more hair, so now I think I have to find creative ways to comb it. We sure do love having Caleb in our family. He is such a sweet smiling joy to have around. He really is easy going when he is not in pain from his gums. We love you Caleb >

Families are Forever

On Tuesday December 30Th my family went to the temple and were sealed together for time and all eternity. I have been waiting for this day for so long, it was a perfect day. It had been snowing all week and the day we can out of the temple all dress in white it was a beautiful sunny day. I will forever remember this day and the vision of my whole family dressed in white. I am grateful that a our family can be together forever. I will never have to be without my family. What a great promise and blessing. Jerry and I have been married civilly for 5 years, and now we are sealed together for time and all eternity. What a wonderful day. The peace and joy I feel is hard to express, and most of my feelings are to personal and private to share on a blog. I just wanted wanted everyone to know how excited and happy we are as a family to have had the chance to go to the temple as a family. I have a testimony of the Savior and his sacrifice for us. I am so glad we have had this past Christmas season to celebrate his birth, and also the knowledge of knowing, Families can be together forever! Thank you to all of you that attended the temple with us to celebrate this special day. I will always remember this Christmas season as one of my very favorite ones for the rest of my life.

Happy New Year 2009!!!!

Happy New Year

I wanted to take a minute to reflect on my 2008! It has really been a good year for me! We as a family set goals last year to accomplish and we kept every goal. Jerry wanted to get in shape, Kate wanted to be potty trained before little brother came, she did one week before, at least she made her goal. I wanted to have family more consistant family home evening nights, and as a family we wanted to go to the temple and be seal together as a family for time and all eternity. We accomplish all of them, what a feeling. The were many great things I would like to remember 2008 for, not only our goals but my life experiences.
1. The Birth of my like boy, Caleb.
2. The chance to got to the temple for myself.
3. To be able to go to the temple with my husband and kids and be seal together forever and be a eternal family, to be together forever after we die.
4. For being able to make some really great friends at church.
5. For my good health and being able to recover quickly from having Caleb.
6. For the chance to go back to Michigan this summer and see my family and the place I grew up.
7. For being able to come home for Christmas and spent the whole month of December in Utah.
8. To remember the year I turned 30.
There are 8 things to remember about my 2008 year, in no particular order, all equally important to me. It was a great year to remember, I hope for any even better one this Year. Happy New Year everyone!

Children's Museum

We had a great time this week going to the children's museum, with family. Kate enjoyed all the many things to see and do, the pictures pretty much says it all, I wish we had one close to us in Alabama.

Desert Star

Last night Jerry and I went with my daughter Kate to see the annual Christmas play at the Desert Star. Jerry's Grandma, Joyce Rasmussen, buys a whole row in the theater for the whole family. That's her Christmas present to everyone. It was great to have Kate come this year, they had an extra ticket, so Kate was able to attend. Normally it is just for the adults, so this was definitely a special treat. For those who don't know what it the Desert Star is, it's a little dinner theater. Kate loved all the root beer and pizza Grandma and Grandpa let her have. I probably wouldn't have given her as much as she drank, but she was sitting by Pa-Pa and Grandma. It was a special occasion so I was to upset. It was a really funny Christmas play. It was so fun to see Kate's face when Santa came out. Kate's face just lit up, she was so excited. It so neat to see the child like wonder in her eyes, sometime I wish I still had that. Jerry and I had a great time as well, the ice cream was great. It was also great to see all of Jerry's extended family again. Thank you Brams!

Keeping the Family Traditions Alive !

Every year around Christmas time we had a tradition of making Sugar Cookies and decorating them with my mom's famous frosting. It's something I've done since I can't even remember. It was so much fun to share this tradition with Kate this year, she was amazed that we just let her go to town and decorate any and all cookies the wanted anyway she wanted to decorate them. At one point she took 4 sprinkle containers and shook it all at the same time on one small cookie. It was so much fun. Everyone loves to roll out the dough and cut the shapes out. The decorating is the best part of all. My sisters couldn't decorate them fast enough. The kept fighting over using the same sprinkles, to funny. I don't know but I think we all eat more then we decorated. Let's just say after an afternoon of sugar cookies and frosting everyone had a pretty good sugar high for the day. It been one of my favorite traditions as a child. It's so much fun to turn up the Christmas music and sing and decorate Cookies all afternoon. It's hard to do it by yourself it a lot of work to roll out, cut and decorate for one person, so I enjoyed it more doing it as a family instead of by myself. I definitely will try to keep this family tradition alive for many years to come.

Visit with Santa

The first thing we did when we got here was go to my parents church party. My kids got to sit on Santa Clause's lap. Kate was smiling with joy she was so excited to tell him what she wanted. She wants a doll that goes pee pee on the potty and a roll over puppy, yeah I don't know. I think she got the idea from one Saturday morning I let her watch the regular Saturday morning cartoons instead of Disney or PBS that's when she saw all the fun commercials. The advertising to kids is crazy. I'm just glad she only asked for two things, that last couple of years she only asks Santa for two things, it kind of cute. You ask her if that's all she wants and she says that's all I want from Santa. Kate did great wasn't shy at all, never has been which has been nice. Caleb well needless to say did really know what was happening other than all the red Santa was wearing caught his eye and the fun candy cane he was given which he would never get to eat. My poor kids, we just got off the plane so I did have a chance to dress them all cute in red like I like to do. Oh well I guess the point is Kate and Caleb got to see Santa. They had a great time talking to Santa!

Twilight the second time around!

Photobucket
An afternoon of Edward,Bella, Popcorn, Peanut M&M's and no kids, what more could you ask for! I had a great chance to go see the movie again with my mom. My sisters were really great, they watch the kids while they took their naps so I could go see the movie in the theater. I originally saw it with my husband and at our local drive-in with the two kids in the back seats. Kate watching her own movie on her DVD player of course. I didn't realize how much I missed the first time I watched it. I guess it was all the crying from Caleb trying to fall asleep and Kate's potty breaks. It was really nice to go see it in an actual theater, I don't get to do that very much anymore. I some times really miss and enjoy gong to see a movie. The movie was definitely better the second time around, maybe because I got to see it without any interruptions. Thanks mom, I had a great time. I am an Edward fan, I have to say for the record. I'm still struggling to read the last book, It hard to find time to sit and read with to active children, and when I get a chance to read I'm so exhausted from the days activities. I don't have the energy to read without fall asleep, I'm dying to find out what happens in the last book. I have to find the time that's all there is to it. I need to know what happens to Bella, it's bugging me. I'm sort of taking my time as well because I don't want the story to end for me yet. So it's a little of not having time and me trying to stretch out the story and trying to make it last longer. I am going to finish it, I will. Once again it was a great time at the movies and I'm glad I got to see it again.
